Life inside the USSR

CCCP! Life for a Soviet citizen differs greatly from any part of the world. Regular life is monitored and under constant vigilance. There are many advantages and disadvantages for any Soviet Citizen who lived in the Soviet Union. But protection was given to each and every Soviet Citizen. There were no human right violations, thefts, rapes. How did such a Super Power collapse? It is mainly due to its idealistic approach of Communism and being less adaptive to the ever changing world led to the downfall of the USSR. The Soviets were from the books. In one angle, they were innocent as they couldn't predict the flaws in their own system. They followed whatever they were taught by Lenin, rather than modifying their principles in accordance with the world. Privatisation and free market economy wasn't allowed. Similar reasons led to the failure of commmunism. Morever, US propaganda to project the Soviet Union as an Evil Empire resulted in Soviet Union's international isolation and this lowered the morale of Soviet citizens.

In the USSR, country's progress was given first preference. There is nothing more important than making your motherland powerful and protecting it. This was the primary goal of every Soviet Citizen. Food, education was given at free cost or at consolidated price. What more do you need? Soviet sciences, research and development, universities were very much superior. Any degree obtained in the Soviet Union was considered highly valid. The Government paid for the education. Any Soviet Citizen should work only for his nation. This is not the way we find in the present day world. Many people migrate to other developed nations and settle there to enjoy high standards of living. Maybe in India it is accepted as you pay for food and education. However, the Soviets can prevent their citizen from moving out. They had their own reason. The reason is they are paying for their food and education. As a result, it's the duty of any Soviet citizen to serve his own country. The Communists firmly believed that a country could develop only by their own citizens. The Soviet Union was definitely superior and it was proven in all fields like Miltary, Defence, Space expeditions, Missile system. However, due to the threat of US, Soviets spent a lot of money in military and defence. This made the nation poorer. Gradually this led to an unrest in other Soviet Republics which eventually led to the dissolution of the USSR.

About the Blog

Photo taken in Russia after dissolution of USSR. Though the USSR doesn't exist, all the former Soviet satellite states and republics appreciate Soviet sacrifices.

Dear Comrades/Friends,

It gives me immense pleasure to announce that we are going to have a blog dedicated to a nation which we admired during our school days very much. Purposely, I avoided the word "I" in the first line. This webpage is dedicated to anyone who is a fan of the former superpower USSR known as CCCP in Russian. I am not a communist, neither do I know much about communism, but there are lots of positives to be learnt from the former USSR. Everyone feels Communism is evil. But I am strongly against it. If there aren't power mad people, corrupted people, any system be it capitalism or communism would triumph. The Soviet system wasn't perfect which eventually led to its collapse in 1991. But there are many lessons to be learnt from the dissolution of the USSR.

I am not saying the USSR was the perfect nation and its citizens were the best of all people. But there are many things which I admire in that nation. Lenin, Stalin, Khruschev, Brezhnev, Andropov, Chernenko, Gobrachev, Aleksei Kosygin, Nikolai Bulganin were popular Soviet Leaders.

Display of valor. Russian soldiers.

There are many reasons I liked in the CCCP. They were a night mare to the US. They made their own decisions, developed their own technologies and out of nowhere they developed and they competed with a wealthy nation like the US. They aimed only at their progress, but actually it was the USA which competed with the USSR. Soviets fought a war in their homeland during world wars, unlike the US. Of the total losses in World War 2, Soviet Union lost more than half of civilians, soldiers, though Soviets emerged as victors.

Yet, within a few years, they transformed from an agrarian country into a heavy industrial nation. Science, Research, Engineering, technology was given importance. Education and food were given at a consolidated price. In return, the citizens needed to work for the progress of the country. However, stern rule of discipline and guidelines led to discomfort amidst people. But the USSR's rapid growth was possible only due to stern rule.

Tips, articles are written by many fellow "comrades" whom I know for a long time. The main essence of the web page is to make the world realize the positives of the Soviet Union. Sadly, the world map doesn't project the Soviet empire anymore. I will be writing only to myself and only for my satisfaction. And of course, only when I find time to write an article.

The blog page will focus on military technology, life inside the USSR, positives and also negatives and also the collapse of the Soviet Union. Soviet sacrifices were plenty especially in World War-II and Afghanistan. Today, if the USSR had existed there would be no Taliban. It's the fact that the whole world needs to accept. Even the Americans knew it. But their self esteem issues prevents them accepting the fact.
